The rings hug the inserts, the inserts hug the scope, they all tighten together, nothing to slip. There must be bizillions out there from the various companies that make them, never heard a complaint on here or elsewhere.

It's a set of (non-)moving parts that I'd rather not deal with. Why not just get the proper (non-ARMS) size rings?

You're going to find that the #37 ring inserts are made to such tight tolerances, that slippage will be the least of your worries. They are such a close fir that you need to be really careful while installing them or you'll scratch the scope. Their fit to the rings is just as tight a fit; you have nothing to worry about, as far as zero retention goes.
