That is correct. The SIR will raise your EOTech to high to co-witness correctly. You will need to go with the #50 bi-level model and put your EOTech over the handguards...

Wait a minute guys he said SIR "Mid-length". That's the #58, its an "M" version, so you'll need to remove your Delta ring and springs, but iis also a Bi-level, like the #50 pictured, so if you mount the EOTech out in front of the receiver, it will co-witness perfectly.
