I purchased an eotech 511 and just got it in the mail. Was told it was the rev E but it has the flat buttons on it instead of the raised buttons. The box does have a "E" on the end of it and the manufacture date on the site is Sept. 2003.  Is this a Rev E or a Rev D? I am under the impression the Rev E has the raised buttons. Thanx for any info.

Thanx for the fast reply's
guess I should have spent the little extra cash for the 551. So is there any difference between the Rev D and the Rev E for the 511?

The revision "E" model also includes increased submersibility to 33 ft. of water.  (don't know what "D" depth was).

What's the battery life up to on the E's?

According to my manual, with the Rev. E, the "N" batteries I am supposed to get 70 hours.   dg.

Battery life was increased by 30% on rev e. models.
Models prior to the Rev. E are water submersible up to ten feet.

Rev E which is no longer the designation at EOTech has now increase the battery life to 100 to 150 hours on the N cell and the AA has increase to 500-800 hours.

Is the 551/552 worth the extra money?  I am going to put one or the other on a Bushmaster I am about to purchase.  I have shot using a 511 or 512 and liked it a lot.  Any info will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.  Russ
