I just got a brand new TA55 for $850 shipped!  Now where is my pre-ban URX upper?

Wow! That's a good deal. Had a chance to play with it yet?

Was that the one on eBay you just got?

Yes, this was the one off E-Bay.  I was a little worried because of how LOW the price was.   I think the guy had someone bidding against me because I lost.  He sent me an email and asked if I was still interested and if so he would pay for shipping!  I saw him list this on E-Bay a couple of times at around $1000. I figured even at that price it would be good. He also sold a TA11F for about $700. I started to get that, but I already have a TA31 and a TA01NSN.  All of my A3’s are 16” and under so the TA55 is mounted, but looks kinda funny on a 16”.  I was going to wait for the URX to come out for this project, but I couldn’t pass up the price…SPR?[:p]  So far I REALLY like it! NO shots yet. As soon as I got it I came home and posted. I had to tell someone who would understand my JOY! It’s definitely not for a carbine, but that wasn’t Trijicon’s plan for it and it’s not mine either![;)]

I'm glad to hear you didn't have to sell the TA31 to finance the purchase!

Hey Mike,

No, the TA31 is definitely a keeper!  Thanks again for the deal.

I saw it on ebay as well.

IMHO, the size of TA55 is far too big for its magnification (5.5 power). It is larger than a basic hunting scope (3-9x40). The size makes you awkward and clumsy for CQB.

For CQB, TA31/TA01 series are the best.
For long distance+CQB, Trijicon AccuPoint is the best.

"Accupoint the Best" [?] [>:/]

Anyway, the TA55 is not for CQB.  Yes, it's very big, but it also has A LOT of ++++.  For me the price was definitely one of them! [:d]
