Shadow....

Are you aware that when you carry your scoped rifle in the case, the weight of the rifle (at least some of it) is bearing down on the scope?

Actually I left a little bit of extra clearance around the scope so it "floats".  The rifle itself is very tight so any blow to the case probably won't impact the scope - I hope.
