THE TA55 IS BIG, HEAVY, AND EXPENSIVE.

IT'S ONLY 5.5X.

IT IS ALSO CRYSTAL CLEAR WITH A GREAT FIELD OF VIEW. OPTICALLY, IT'S GREAT, THE BEST TRIJICON ACOG MADE ON A RESOLUTION CHART, I'LL BET.

IF YOU NEEDED A SCOPE ON A CREW SERVED WEAPON, THIS MIGHT BE A GREAT CHOICE.

FORTUNATELY, FOR YOUR PERSONAL, INDIVIDUAL WEAPON, THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER SCOPES TO CHOOSE FROM.

Having only handled one, and not used one on a rifle, I'll still agree 100% with Wes.  It's heavy, and big.  Remember, the Trijicon ACOG scopes aren't designed for paper-punching, or to get .5 MOA groups.  They're designed for combat, where center of mass on a human-sized target is the requirement, and SPEED is important.  Thus, magnification is lower, and field of view is wider, than on most conventional scopes.  If this is not what you want, then you'll be happier with a more conventional scope.  If this IS what you want, the ACOG models will give you "jet-fighter grin."  [:D]
