Lumpy196 contributed a great link from the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratories where they conducted a test to determine how effective the SAM rifle and ACOG (TA31F) were in combat operations.

While I think the latest test in Iraq was probably on a lot larger scale, this is a LOT of detailed information (126 pages) on use of the ACOG at the squad and fireteam level and makes for an excellent read.
