I'd like to replace my #40 with a carry handle and see on BM's website that using a Colt carry handle may effect my elevation on a non-Colt upper?Does this mean I'd have to use a taller front site post?I'd also like to know if Colt makes any carry handles that closely match BM, DPMS and RRA uppers?

The Colt is the genuine thing as used by our troops and othe free world armies use in the field of war. The Bushmaster is not correct to the proper ht. as they are just simi copies of the real thing. Your much better off with what you already have. To put a carry handle back on is going backwards from all that solid (so called carry handle) optic placement provision was removed for in the first place, to get it lower for mounting optics.
