Does anyone know what kind of ACOG is being used on the DMR M14 rifles?

Just wondering.

I had an EO-Tech on my M1A, but put it over on my AR.

I'm thinking about working my M1A up into a DMR clone...

A true M14 DMR uses a Leupold Mk4 M3 scope.

Troops in Afghanistan and Iraq have been seen using the TA11 ACOG on standard unaccurized M14s.

Is the TA11 used instead of the TA31 due to eye relief?

Most likely, and also that its available with a .308 reticle, although its not calibrated for M14 use.

Just a thought but has anybody seen an ACOG in action picture yet where the windage cap wasn't missing?

Lumpy196-

Thanks for the pics...

Looks like I'm going to start saving my pennies for a TA11...

It's amazing how just camoing that rifle in the bottom pic makes that sniper kind of blend in even though he is not making much of an attempt to.

Be prepared to get some sort of cheek piece.  The face to stock weld on that setup has to SUCK.

Yeah, it does...

When I had the EO-Tech on my M1A, I made a "low-rent" cheek piece from an old mouse pad. I cut it in half and stacked the two pieces. I used rubber cement to hold them together and some black cloth tape to attach it to the rifle. It didn't look that great, but it worked OK.

I'm looking at a Blackhawk Tactical Cheek Pad that's adjustable for height. I think Quantico Arms has them...

It's gonna be a while before I can scrape up that kinda coin for that ACOG, though. Man, Trijicon is PROUD of those things! I might just opt for an Aimpoint or another EO-Tech...

In the mean time, I put an el-cheapo($30 @ Wal-Mart) BSA red dot sight on the M1A. Cheap, but it works...I've got a Smith Enterprise Tactical Scope Mount on my M1A, so I can still use the iron sights in case the BSA goes "Tango Uniform".
