I would say that it comes down to personal preference and how much cash you got. If money is not an issue, I would put either an Aimpoint ML2 or M2 on the 16" and put a TA31/TA11 on the 20". You really won't go wrong with either optic. Just identify what you will most likely be doing with each AR and go from there...

Im prefering BOTH these days.

My TA31 will eventually end up on a flat top 20" upper. |
