Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Difference between weaver and Picatinny?

Are they the same? I have the Bushmaster triple mount that mentions it accepts weaver mounts, but can a P rail work too? I want to install the Surefire M951P

They're different.  Probably a FAQ somewhere.

Regardless, this light will fit on the M1913 rail, I had ont on my SIR system until I tired of the weight.  Since the Weaver rail is slightly smaller it should fit there too, but you may have to shim it.
