just curious? I use the dimmest setting that I can get buy with.It seems if I turn it up a bit I loose its shape?

Same here.  On a sunny day in a sand pit range, it is usually all the way up, or one click down.  If adjusted too bright, the dot definitely 'blooms'.  Doesn't really affect your ability to hit the target though.

On a bright day here in the sunny southern Californias, I am all the way cranked up on my Aimpoint M2 and EOTech 552.

On a Bright day I crank my Comp C up to 7 or 8.
Indoors:setting 5. Dusk night or evening: setting
3-5.

When I go from 8clicks to 9 there is a big differense its alot brighter?Most of the time its on 7

I am usually on 7 also.  

But you also have to consider that everyone's eyes are different.  They effect your chosen setting, as well as the light conditions.
