1) remove the clamping bar from the left side of the rail.
2) Pull the charging handle back as if you were removing the bolt group. 3)Place the rail onto the rifle with the rail about an inch behind where it would normally ride, and slide it forward until when it's in poroper position, the notches in the rail line up with the notches in the upper, forming the screw holes. 4)Put the clamping bar in place, insert the screws, and tighten 'em down. |

When I tried that the thing is so tight; it feels odd. It's a Colt flattop. Should I use lubricant (for the rail placement, haha)? Thanks

My #38s-EX MOD was very tight also, I make sure it is lined up straight and I took a rubber hammer and tap it slowly into battery. once it is half way in, it became easier.

should the screws be torqued to a certain value? loctite?

Just snug them down, they'll stay just fine without loc-tite.

[;)] At 60 rounds the screws were no longer even finger tight. The purple loc-tite that came with the ARMS#38ex was half the strength of Blue Loc-tite 242 (which also didn't work). Had to use Red 271. It's high strength, but not permanent. |
