Every two or three years we travel to Alabama for a GREAT Dove Hunting Season !! I shoot an 11-87 and I've been thinking about a holo or a red dot ??  I don't want to spend a fortune, but can anyone suggest something for this use ??

One thing, Doves fly pretty quickly......

Before I brought it on a once a year hunt, I would go the trap range and shoot at least 4 rounds of skeet.
My bet is that you'll hit better using just the went rib.

I'm a big time shotgunner and bird hunter.  I also wouldn't recommend anything other than the rib or bead sights for bird hunting.

I have to agree with Slacker and Woodenfrog dtick with the bead. I can't imagine seeing the right sight picture with a holo or dot. My advice if you are looking to kill more birds is shoot more, as much as you can. Good hunting
