Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Anyone done any scope painting?

I've got an older bright blued scope that
I'd like to put on a more subdued finished.
I'm thinking matte black or just a matte clear
epoxy finish. Any tips or hints? Thanks.

I found a Leupold 2-7 that was gloss for a great price. I cleaned it with alcohol, covered the lenses and painted it with Aluma-Hyde II from Brownell's. It looks great and wears like a champ!
