Will the EOTech return to zero after being removed?

Also, those who have the AA version of the EOTech, what type of BUIS do you prefer?

I'm down between the GGG A2 and chopped A3 handle.

Thanks!

I have lots of luck with my 551 return to zero.  I am alway on target with a plus or minus of 1MOA @ 100, anything beyond that, you should always zero check the sight after removal.

I swap out an Eotech with a Leupold VXII 3X9X40 tactical every now an then depending on what I am wanting to do that day at the range.

I would not bet my life on any scope returning to zero with out checking it out on the range first.

Rambosky, do you use a QR mount for the 3X9?  If so, what brand?

Joe,

I don't use QR rings.  I have Leupold MK4's on the scope.

I've been swapping between my A3 carry handle and my Eotech 551 (depending on whether it's raining or not) for a year now since I last zeroed. I also remove them when cleaning weapons. No problems out to 200M with 8" steel plate targets. Based on that re-zero seems adequate for use against man size targets at the ranges you would expect to use an Eotech.  I couldn't tell you if it moved 1 MOA or not (and I really don't care) when I'm shooting at targets of that size at those ranges. I suppose it might be an issue if you *had* to take a precision head shot.

I thought the spec ops "kit" for the M4 included both an aimpoint and an acog, with the expectation that soldiers would swap the sights as needed.  Was it expected that they would always have the opportunity to re-zero while in the field?

Mine has, but I wouldn't trust it to do so consistently.

I've also removed/reinstalled mine w/ no appreciable difference in POA/POI.

I haven't had a chance to test mine, but I just decided to use an ARMS #19A with the 2 throw levers and more permanently locktight my E-O tech, I don't really trust the 1 screw mechanism to return to zero

but that is probably just in my head I'll test it first and if the E-O tech comes back closer to zero than my ARMS# 19A, I'll sell the 19A and slap myself up-side the head for being a dumbass.

GreenO, do you have BUIS?  If so, how's it co-witness with the 19A?

Thanks!
