Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - best red dot for 1pc. flat top mount

i have a 1pc. armalite flat top mount for my m15a4 and was wondering what red dots if any will fit this type of mount? i would like to spend about $200-250 for the scope!
im new to the "ar" rifle, so im a little confused about different mounts and accessories
and everything in general for upgrading my rifle!

That mount is designed for regular scopes, and it's a very good one for that.  But red-dot sights normally use different mounts because they have shorter and/or fatter tubes (or no tube at all).
