You can use the 100yd zero reticle and you can use the ranging bars on the lower/longer-range reticles to determine distance, but the placement of the ranging reticles won't be calibrated for .308.

The TA-01 is intended to be used with .223 coming out of a 20" barrel. The TA-01B is the same scope except the reticle is calibrated for .308.

What Acog would be be good for an all around sight for the .223 and .308 round? I will be mounting it on the carry handle on both the AR-15 and AR-10A2.

Jercdevil, just like you, I've been looking for a versatile optic to use on an AR15 as well as an AR10. There are lots of options out there but I really like the compact ACOGs for all-around use. All of the compact models feature the Bindon Aiming Concept (BAC) and you can choose between 1.5x , 2x or 3X magnification.

An ACOG for the .308 flat top will track with a flat top M4 14.5" barrel using 75 grain TAP ammo out to 500 yards within 1 MOA if you convert the meters to yards.
Then mount it to a 20" barreld .308 using 168 grain BTHP and it will track with that all the way out in meters. Check the ballistics yourself. |
