#1: In regards to long range shooting (if you have an ACOG model designed for carry handle mounting but have it on a flat-top): an 8" impact difference at 800 yards does seem to be trivial; one would suppose that the same or more difference might be expected because of errors in range estimation...

#2: There does not seem to be a satisfactory solution to the above problem, as all the carry handle models (according to my understanding) are all calibrated for M193 ammo out of a 20" barrel, while all the flat-top ACOGS have reticles optimized for M855 out of a 14.5"...

#3: I have heard from some source that the Marines are considering the TA-11F for mounting on their new M16A4's...Anyone have any more info on this?

#4: There has been criticism here that the ACOG is not a proper 'sniper' scope because of its 'low' magnification...Let's all jump into the Way-back machine here, and set the dial for 1939-1945...the standard scopes then were usually 3X, 4X at the most, and the US Army and Marines made due with a measly 2.5X! Yet the shooters managed to do great execution with them...
