How good are BSA scopes? Their low price sort of makes me think that it is a real cheapo. I was looking at the 6-24x40mm for 300 yards target work.

If your looking for a scope for target work suggest ya pass on the BSA. They do fine for hunting, (set at 100 or single range) but the one I have is no good for out and back type adjustments (100-1000 & back) needed for target work. See Leupold Vari-X III or Mark IV scopes for serious target work as they are precision scopes designed for it.

What about Weaver? I have a 3-9 Leupold but could use something stronger for the 300 yard range. What power would be good for that range without going too high up?
