Currently I’m using the 10 round .458 socom aluminum  mags from Cal-legal .. these work sometimes. The steel AA mags do not feed at all. Any recommendations would be appreciated

Shoot pointy ammo.

If you handload, don't load long.

Bend your feed lips to make the bullets point up. To look more like this.

Perfectly horizontal, flat faced bullets T-Bone just under the feed ramp.

Thanks! Unfortunately, the follower allows smaller rounds to be loaded... that’s a No go here in Nazi Jersey.

I’ve tweaked the mags in this fashion and this helps a lot. If I load all 10, the lips can’t hold them down and I end up with loose rounds jamming up. The magic number seems to be 8 rounds in the aluminum cal mags. For some reason even the tweaked steel AA won’t even feed one.

Dang, that's a pain.  I feel for y'all in enemy territory.

I have a few 4 round AA mags and a couple 7 round mags.  They've always run perfectly.  I usually just load a standard Pmag with 10 rounds if I want more.  So far even doing that has fed just fine.  One of these days I'll try some of the AA 10 round mags specifically for the Beowulf.  The caveat being I primarily shoot the FMJ stuff.  I haven't tried my solid brass Spitzer ammo in them yet.  Been saving that for when the dinosaurs come back.

Old post but still a valid question

Lancer mags with the Tromix LDS big bore follower.  The 20 round Lancers work best   7 rounds of .50 Beowulf.

That's not true.

You can own a Glock in .40S&W and a Glock in 9mm. Both 10rd magazines. You can load more than 10rds of 9mm in the Glock40 mag, and it may function a few rounds, but it is not designed for it, and not illegal to own (as you own both guns they are designed for).

They make 10rd Beowulf magazines that are MARKED 50 Beowulf (I prefer marked 50 Beowulf AND 10rds). Use those. Only put Beowulf in it. No problems.
