I got two PMAG 30 and noticed the followers are a bit different and sit differently when empty. Is this normal? Will it effect the bolt catch on empty mag (haven't test fired but seems ok when manually cycling the bolt)?

The black mag (09 stamp), the follower touches the feed lip. The FDE (10 stamp), the follower doesn't touch the feed lips.

You can see the differences in the follower as well.

They're both revision M.

Magpul tech support just answered my question, it's completely normal. The follower with the channel and gap between the feed lip is the newer variant.

Thanks!

Yes but did they tell you why it's changed?   It seems to be some big secret & they won't answer that.

Nope, just that they're constantly trying to improve their quality/performance and that's it's the latest variant.

So what was wrong or what did they discover from 09-10 that prompted the change?   That's all I'm asking. And they choose not to answer that.

They don't owe you an explanation.

Thanks for chiming in Justin. I'm sure everybody here is all about improvement, keep it up.

I'll drop it. Pmags are great & I haven't had one fail. It's just me & the way I am.  I like to have explanations.
