Did the price of Beta Mags drop recently? I seem to remember a few months ago they were about $300 and now I'm seeing them for $240 and they are the whole kits. Maybe trying to flood the market before the election? Or am I just imagining this and they've always been about that price?

I've seen them in the $240 to $250 range since the ban lifted.  I've never seen them in the $300 range.

Wonderful, as this leaves more for the rest of us....

ps - OP must have been living under a rock for the last few years.... as noted Beta Mag prices have been stable for quite some time now.

I take it you don't own a M16... I could be wrong, but nothing puts a smile on your face like a 100rnd mag dump

Until you think about how much that ammo costs that you just blew threw in a matter of seconds.

800rpm @ 350/k.  Hmmm. Comes out to $16,800 an hour.

So what would a preban Beta be worth for those behind the lines?

If you're expecting the dems to win in 2008 then you're probably anticipating a high-cap mag ban, too. In which case, these C-Mags will be worth a lot of money, at least if their prices during the 94 ban were any indication. I think they were selling upwards of $700, no?

I didn't say it was cheap, only that it would make you smile 9mm reloads help...

For those behind the lines...a Legal Grandfathered Preban is worth its weight in gold like a registered "AW" vs. OLL gun.  I bought my beta mags for close to 400 before the sb23 california ban.  I can LEGALLY own them.  Plus I have the reciepts to prove it. I love mine for 3 gun competitions especially on a table start.  The mag props the gun up so its easier to grab than laying flat on the table.  Also allows you to finish ANY stage out there without doing a reload.

UNLESS you own a M16, the next best reason to own a Beta is that it just pisses the hell out of libs.  The lib-pissability factor is higher than a whole truck-load of thirty-rounders.

These comments above would probably have more value for others had either of you taken the time to discuss your "bad-experiences" with the Beta-Mag.

How are we to know "IF" either of you have had any actual experience using a Beat Mag otherwise.....

FWIW, I own one and have used/tested it on several occasions; enough to know that mine runs 100% in both my M4 carbines and my long range CR6724 using both M193 rounds and BH 77grn SMKs.

I've had ZERO issues with my M16 and AR15s using both 9mm and 5.56mm Betas. That being said, I think they are exceptional range toys and they definently piss off the libs, I've got a few... However, if the shit really hit the fan I don't think I would turn to them, they are too heavy to really be mobile both in the gun and on a belt.
