Ive thought a lot about the Betas....then I think 1- 100 rnd mag, or for the same price I can get 20-25 mags, for 600 - 750 rounds.  Putting the cool factor aside, (because lets face it, they ARE cool!) does the Beta offer any advantages?

designed to be stored indefinatly, offers the tactical advantage of being able to shoot 100 rounds without having to reload, offers a smaller profile when resting it vs. a 30 rd.

will go up in price when the AWB is revived

I like mine a lot, especially when I want uninterrupted firepower.  Never a hiccup.  Not a substitute for my 20 & 30 rounders but I like having it loaded and ready.  I will probably buy a couple more before another ban.  I remember seeing these things for $500-$850 during the Klinton ban.  It's like so many options for an AR; it's not a must but if you can afford one and want one, why not.  Welcome to America, the land of the FREE.

Yes there is a coolness factor.  In my opinion they are not really that great with semi auto.  They are heavy and standing there pulling the trigger 100 times can take a while.

In full auto they are a blast.  I have 7 in 5.56 and 3 in 9mm.  Dump the mag, push the two pins, change uppers, and dump another one.  I'm in the process of building a water cooled upper so I don't have to push the two pins.  Just my $.02 worth.

I say skip the beta and get 20 CP Stainless mags with Mag-pul Gen2 followers...

Yeah, the beta mags look cool but for that kind of money I'll pass. I think I would rather have a bunch of 30 round mags instead of just one Beta Mag.

its not exactly a beta... but its still a 90 round drum. close enough.

they also have a beta mag on cheaper than dirt... but it is $234.97

www.cheaperthandirt.com/MAG056-45977-1885.html

for a difference of only 10 rounds... id rather pay 130 than 230.
but ill stick to my magpull 20 rounders and my one promag 30 rounder. thx anyways.

im dying to pick me up a half dozen of these babys....

Whats the latest on the Beta's for 7.62 rifles?

Take 2 or 3 shooters with an AR and 3 beta's each, you can keep the front yard clean for a while without a break in fire.  Sustained fire is the only real advantage, and the fact that the value will probably triple after the next election.

Does anyone have a pic of a Beta that busted as a result of a fall?
