Ok, stupid question, I know a lot of you guys keep your mags loaded for when SHTF, I do too, but are any of you worried that it might weaken the spring or internal components of the mag if kept filled with ammo for a long period of time?...I keep my 30rd mags loaded with ammo all the time, also my pistol mags etc... Question is- does anyone have any experience w/ their mags failing due to long term( like for more than a year or so) storage filled with ammo?

Keeping a mag loaded will not weaken the spring. Actually loading and unloading will do more "harm". Some people will download one round when keeping their mags loaded.

springs weaken from use not from remaining compressed

To clarify..... The only need to download a 30 to lesser amount is to make them easier to insert on a weapon with a closed bolt.
Haven't seen / heard valid report of a spring failing on a 30 rd mag either. Seen mags thate worn grooves through the front face from the bullet tips sliding up, but the springs were still fine.
