Stripper clips require an adapter to load directly to a magazine. Stripper clips were/are used with rifles, primarily bolt actions with internal magazines, that had built in stripper clip guides on the rear top of the eir actions.

There are a couple of AR-compatible mags that won't accept the stripper clip guide, but that was done on purpose since they weren't designed to be loaded from the top. I'm talking about the AR-modified Chinese AK74 drums here.
Other than those, and maybe one or two other rare examples, the stripper clip guide (and therefore loaded stripper clips) will work with any AR mag. -Troy |
