there is a hole on the baseplate, stick a round in it and slide it off...just go slow because the spring that is under tension will pop out with force

I use a punch, but a round works, also. You need to lift up on it, but not too much. Ham handed people bend the baseplate when doing this. If done carefully, it doesn't bend the baseplate. |

Piece of cake.....I use a small thin-bladed screwdriver to gently pry the angled portion of the base plate away from the magazine, enough for the retainers to clear.....then use same tool to start sliding the plate off. Works like a charm. If you have a tight plate & use a cartridge, steel rod, etc "pry-through-the-hole" method, you'll likely bend the baseplate.
