Are the Magpul Followers a good upgrade to consider?  D&H mag with a Magpul Follower is what I'm thinking about.  New mags.
Thanks

I like them. I usually buy a pack at the funshows when I go. They have made some old crappy mags with black followers like new again.

Thats my Philosophy also. All of my older Teflons with green followers that work as intended will stay with that set up.

But All the new mags I get from now on will be have the Magpuls installed.

I've got a core of mags that are upgraded with Magpul followers, Ranger plates and Wolff springs.  These are ultra reliable.  They are my SHTF mags, if you will.  Most of the other mags are range mags with original springs and green followers.  If they show even the slightest sign of FTF or tilt, the spring and follower are pulled and Magpul/Wolff are installed in their place.  I have slowly built up about 15 mags in this configuration and will continue to do so, as needed.

IMO, if you are doing some type of active shooting with reloading, and a partially loaded mag has a chance of being dropped or something like that, that's where you would see the benefit of mag upgrades.  If you are a square range, bench bound shooter, you probably will never see or need to see the benefit of these followers.

Thanks to all of you for your help.

they have little handles to aid with inserting the mag

So you can pull them out of a pouch or pocket easier and quicker.

It's a removal issue, from mags pouches and such.  I have used them during reloads also, hooking fingers in the loop, dropping the mag and controlling it with my fingers while reloading.  It is a nonstandard practice, but it works for me.  It is not an insertion issue.

It also cushions the mag if you drop it during reloads.

I have seen a green anti tilt follower tilt half way thru a mag. Dont ask how it happened but it did. It was a factory built La Belle mag.

Not only do the Magpul followers eliminate the tilt problem with the green or black followers, it is much easier to load ammo on stripper clips with the Magpul followers. I was denting the top round with my plunger before I switched to the Magpuls.

This may have been asked before, but do you lose mag capacity with the Magpul followers installed?

I have never had an issue with green followers and a mil-spec mag body ever.   YMMV.

EDIT:  I load to 30.
