AR15 fan, I called springfield armory yesterday - they are taking orders for new production XD9 15 round mags - they are $29 ea. I ordered some for my XD9. They did say it would be about 30 days, but they said they will NOT be LEO stamped, and they will be new production hi-cap stainless Springfield mags. They said they would not charge until they shipped. I figured I'd better get on the list. |

Talk to the FFL who sold you the gun. Springfield has put out info. that they will ship 2 mags for each gun in the FFL's stock, plus 2 mags for each previous XD customer that requests them. These mags are FREE. This info is from my FFL.

I'd like to know more bout this...are u saying if you bought an XD new you can get 2 hicaps free or trade in yer 2 10rnds?? What if u bought the gun a while back? I know you heard this from yer FFL, so Im not trying to pry info u may or may not have...just want the low down

Call GT Distributors at 800-775-5996.
They don't list Springfield magazines on their website, but they have XDs in their show room. They are selling hi-caps over the counter at their showroom, but they might still require a letterhead because you are in Kalifornia. |

www.xd-gear.com/ has them for $23. they aren't taking orders right now, but my dad has been talking to them and they say they are just waiting for springfield to send them a new supply. according to SA, it should be soon.

cant xd's accept Berretta mags?? Like 96 for .40 or 92 for 9mm?? If so whats involved in the conversion? and how well do they work? I was thinkin bout getting some cheap mags for range use.

Just get a Beretta 92 mag and drill the extra hole.

just drill a hole for the mag catch hole?Will the 92 work for the 40cal too?? do they function reliably? lock back the slide on the last round?

SMP, from what I understand, even if you bought the Xd a while back, you can get your mags. I didn't hear all the details, but it sounded like Springfield does the mag swap (albeit, you keep your 10 rndrs) by the gun's serial #. Ask your FFL if they've heard anything about it. I've also heard this same deal from a second source.
If you don't want to use Beretta mags, you can find some HS2000 mags (Same gun, different name) |
