Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Feed lip repair?

I have a couple of Vietnam era Colt 20 rounders that have deformed feed lips and give bolt-over-base malfuntions. Does anyone have dies to reform these. I remember several years ago when G3 mags were expensive, that someone had a set of reforming dies to repair bent mags.

Damn wish I could help you on that one. I was always taught if bent to cause load problems shoot them then discard them.

It sounds like they are worn out.  USGI mag bodies are rarely fixable, especially the feed lips.  It's time to buy some new mags, and pay close attention to the feedlip area.  The metal there should be thick and nicely squared off.  As they wear, the feedlips edges will get rounded off and thin, and will start to fail as you describe.
