I like the Permaslick philosophy. It's reasonably priced and seems relatively easy to use. I even think the color is a pretty good option, particularly for 20 rounders.

However, I was wondering what other options have been used sucessfully. I am looking for cost-effective, a relatively simple process, and a "tactical" (Black/OD) or "GI" finish profile.

Any suggestions?

I have had excellent results using John Norrells MolyResin.  The SOCOM flat black is an exact match for the Bushmaster and Rock River lowers.

It is tougher than Permaslik, and has the same self lubricating quality.

I use an old toaster oven to bake the finish.

He has several colors available in addition to flat black.
