On a road trip today and stopped at a surplus store I had never been in before. Looked around a while then asked if he had any used M16 mags.

Lo and behold he said he had three and placed them on the counter.

1-99% OK
1-95% Adventureline
1-80% Adventureline

No dents, dings, and feed lips in perfect condition.

After checking the mags out I asked how much. I was blown away when he said $5.00 each!!! Whooo Hooo, I wipped out that cash faster than a gunslinger on a good day. I truly expected him to say $30 bucks each.

After the purchase, I asked if he ever has more to call me. He said great and that he would not buy them if he did not think he could sell those "USED" mags for $5 bucks each.

I just may have found my mag gold mine.

Geez, a local surplus I checked out had some crappy 45% mags with rusty springs for $29.95![BD]

When I commented about the price the guy behind the counter looks at me like I'm ignorant ans says,"Yes, they're expensive because they're pre-ban mags!".

I just looked at him and left almost laughing to myself...

Ya know, last year I received a hokey email from a guy that he had mags for sale cash only via mail.  He went ahead and sent them to me before I'd send cash in the mail.  Anyhow they turned out to be a box of NEW preban black follower Center mags.  Cost for 20 mags was $108 with shipping, needless to say I had no problem forking over cash after that.  I wish those deals were going on more often!  :)

Glock19,
Central NC.

On the way to the coast for vacation I picked up 10 more at another surplus store for $12.00 each, varied condition, I hand picked from about 50 mags, most are about 80-90 percent. A decent deal again. Just have to look. Got home today to find my can of PermaSlik G at the door!

A local surplus store I rarely go into used to have a shitload of 80%-90% used mags. About 5 months ago I bought 20 of them for $13 a piece. If I remember correctly, the majority of them were Centers with a few Adventure Lines and Okays in the mix. Only one had a green follower, but the feed lips, springs, floor plates and tabs were all perfect.
