I just bought recently 2 fully loaded - 30 round COLT magazines. Both are kept fully loaded with ammo for the past 6 years(Owner was from the Military who paseed away). Do you think I should replace the springs since it was kept fully compressed for so long. And one magazine is lacking the retainer plate at the bottom(the part that keeps the baseplate from sliding), do you think i can still get this part?

I don't think 30rnd mags ever came with retainers that hold the floor plates on. Sure you don't have a 20rnd mag or talking about the floor plate tabs?

Anyways, any USGI spring can stay fully loaded for an unlimited amount of time without damage. A spring only wears out when it cycles.
