anyone use engine block paint to refinish mags?

I have tried engine block paint on my g.i.
mags. clean them paint em and cook em for
1 hour. a can cost $5.00. I used black on
some mags last year. the finish is very
tough.I just did a batch in cast iron color.
the cast looks like the orginal finish.

Where did you get your "cast iron paint"?

Edited to add" I can see the heat issue being a factor, but what about abrasion from inserting and ejecting the mags. How are they holding up?

I've used the cast iron spray as well. It makes for a very quick and good looking finish. It seems to be more durable than typical spray paint, but I'm not usre how great it is as a wonder finish. I do think it works and lasts better than Brownells spray Lacquer finish, but I'm still looking for the "perfect finish".
