I know this isn't an ar mag question, but what the heck. I have a 30rd mag for my 10/22 & the little part on the rear of the mag that locks it in, is wearing of & it wont lock properly. Does anyone have a repair solution. I dont want to throw it away as a new one is quite costly, & frankly I can't justify purchaseing another. Thanks in advance for any help.

The method of drilling out the nub and inserting a steel pin is the method that John Norrell recomends in the November 2002 issue of Small Arms Review.

Heh, you beat me to it.  I knew I had recently read about this procedure in SAR.  [:)]

You might want to see if you can find a back issue at SmallArmsReview.com.

I also believe that J&T Distributing carries back issue of SAR.

Here's something I tried on a Butler Creek 10 rounder after it wore out just to see if it could be done. I took an Xacto Knife and carefully split the mag in two. It worked ok and I was able to put it back together. I think you could buy a cheap 10 rounder and replace the red parts in your 25/30 round mag and glue them back together.

Ya I know. That's why I said it was for Butler Creek mags. Just passing on some info.
