I've seen these NIW AR-15/SA80 Sterling mags going for a fairly good price ($25 or so).  Anyone have any experience with them?

Are they 30 round or 40 round mags? I have a Sterling 40 rounder that is great. My understanding is that the Sterling mags are very reliable. They are made of steel instead of aluminum, and as a result can rust if neglected. The price sounds good. Go for it!

BTW, if they are 40 rounders, the price is a steal!  Don't know the current market value of the 30's.

If they are 40 rounders, grab them as fast as you can.  If there are a lot of them, share the source

I bought 10 x40rnd mags from Bushmaster's site, which were stamped "Colt AR-15 Made In USA" on the baseplate, and all of them FTF'd.

At $25ea, that was a steal, and an old saying comes to mind: "If it looks too good to be true, it usually is".

All 10 are being sent back to Bushy for a credit.

If you've got access to either 30 or 40rnd mags, pls share the source, as Sterling mags are top of the line and worth anywhere from $60-75ea.

Buzz I think you may have labeled your mag incorrectly.  The SA80 mag for $25 is a parkerized steel mag that will also fit in the AR15.  The Sterling AR18/180 parkerized steel mags are a different breed.  They come in 20,30 and 40 rd capacity, fit both the AR18/180 and AR15.  Prices for the Sterling 20 and 30 rd mags are about $75 and the 40 rd mags can run about $100 in excellent/new cond.

Also should of mentioned that PMI and Federal Ordinance combo AR15/AR18 blued steel mags in 30 and 40 rd capacity are the only decent quality/reliable aftermarket steel mags.  DON'T even think about considering USA mags, they are JUNK.

Shame on Bushmaster for selling that junk.  They know better and continue to do it anyway.  Those mags are made by Western Metal and are complete junk.  Not worth fifty cents.
