I have an AR with a 18" WOA 223 Wylde chambered barrel with rifle gas and 1:7 twist.

What would be the optimal ammo for this setup?

I have spoke to someone in the interim and they suggested 75grn pills as well.

What brands are good to go? I'm not shooting competitions but want good consistent stuff.

That was good advice up above.
PRVI 75 Match ammo is good stuff.
Also, Black Hills 69 gr to 77 gr.

As of right now no plans on hand loads, though I have a friend who is starting to load for accuracy in his bolt gun and may have him work some stuff up for me.

Price doesn't matter. I'm not buying it by the thousands.

Cannot figure out what you mean by paper? I will be shooting at paper mostly if that is what you mean.

Price doesn't matter? Hoo boy.
Black Hills 77 grain OTM
Hornady 75 grain OTM
Nosler, blah blah blah yadda yadda you want something that's match-grade and where the weight starts with a 7.

get some sierra  match 69gr and heavier, see what your barrel likes

my questions were directed as such because your goals and targets will decide the ammo. Since cost doesn't matter and you are only shooting paper- Im assuming relatively close, and you don't hand load, you are only left with match ammo. Try a box of each until you find what the gun likes.

Another vote for 70-77 grain OTM. Even a good 68 or 69 grain. The PRVI is an ok cheaper alternative.

I like the Black Hills 5.56 77gr OTM.
