I can get about 450 rounds of this for 47cents per round.  Don't know the year yet, getting that info.

I had not heard much about it, so need to ask.

Is it CBC?

If so it is decent stuff.  I found it to be a bit smoky but it all went bang.

Got the headstamp info:

boxes in sealed battle packs.

"CBC"  "7.62"  "76"

Buy or look at something else?  $225 for 470 rounds...

Chick,

don't know about the Brazilian 1976 stuff stuff, BUT:

the CBC 7.62 1975 headstamp was RECALLED due to over-pressure, up to 130,000 cup, as a result of misloading powder. I used to be an FFL ammo dealer back then, and the story we got was that some lots of the CBC 1975 stuff were tampered with, and in one case of a KB, someone guessed an explosive powder, not a propellant was loaded into these defective ones. we shipped all cases back for a full refund.

Also, ANY package of 7.62 with the words "reengestada" should not be fired (over pressure). CBC/Brazil had a 1-800-742-1094 number, but don't know if it's still valid. You can confirm this on www.firearmsid/Recalls/Ammo.

Thanks––if I hear no differently on this ammo, I will pass.

I have used the following years of CBC and will buy more of any of them.
72, 1500 rounds no problems, great ammo, pretty accurate
74, 1250 rounds no problems, no noticable zero shift
76, 1500 rounds no problems no noticable zero shift
77, 0250 rounds (so far) no problems or zero shift

very good ammo, just stay away from 75

THIS!!!

I bought a bunch and had to tear it down after reading about it and not being able to return it. I found at least 3 different powders in ~400 rds, with varying charge weights from 1/4 full to bottom of bullet full.

I reloaded mine with H4895 and it works fine. Sucked though.

If I am not mistaken it was '76 or '77.  The '75 stuff had already been recalled and everyone was leery of the stuff so it was cheap and I didn't really know better at the time.
