I am trying to solicit only information about your PERSONAL experience with this ammunition. If you haven't used it, then please don't clutter up the thread. Information about proper functioning (or lack thereof) is obviously the most important, but factors such as the accuracy or other peculiarities you've noticed are informative also. If you have had problems with this ammo which were severe enough to cause you to stop using this ammo, then please describe them. And one more minor request: keep your reviews objective.

Between my son and I, have gone thru about 800rds out of a 1,000 rd case in my DPMS Classic A2 1x9 and his Oly PCR-4 1x9, all without issue. Good stuff, all rounds in good condition in the box, definite military power and quality at a good price.

I've fired a bunch of it out (300+rnds) out of my bushcoltoly 16"SS/HBAR frankenrifle, and my J&T/DPMS 20"HBAR. Neither rifle is chrome lined and I have not had one ammo malfunction (with any ammo for that matter) Guess I'm just lucky.
P.S. this stuff will go through 1/4" mild steel plate at 100 yards from a 20" tube, and almost all the time from a 16" barrel.

Zero problems to report with:
20" Colt 6601 1/7 HBAR (two rifles)
16" Colt 6400C 1/7 M4
16" Colt 6920 upper 1/7 M4
16" Colt 6721 1/9 HBAR
16" LMT M4 upper 1/7 M4
16" RRA 1/9 HBAR
I'm just barely into my fourth 500rd case, but I have had zero issues in all of the above referenced weapons. The 6400C and 6920 upper have had the majority of M855 trigger time (over 1200 rounds between the two of them).

I have used 900,000rds of this ammo this year alone, and maybe had about 12-15k that is bad.[ split neck, bent rds, overpainting of the tips.] I link this ammo for use in M-249'S . this ammo is not military turn in's from the range. it comes directly from the LC ATK plant in MN . just remember that this ammo is factory seconds!! and they could do what they use to do before selling it to dealers. pull the heads, sell the powder, burn the brass and sell it as scrap. be very thankful that we can get this ammo. there is not more good deals on winchester Q3131A anymore. and remember when LC 5.56 SS109 was like gold about 2yrs ago [$300 for 1k if you can find it.] also there is a price increase coming june 1st from LC /ATK by 4% on there products. so stock up now.

I have put about 3000 rounds downrange from three different 16 inch platforms. The ammo functions well and shoots btter that standard, which is a max of 2MOA.
I no longer buy this ammo because it is less effective than M193, but that is the only reason. If it had the same POI/trajectory as M193, I would buy it and use it.

Very reliable ammo. I have had no failures out of 400 rounds. All are 2moa or better.

I ordered 1K of the bulk-packed M855-CS from ammoman.com on 3/9 and received it on 3/16...
Here's the observations I have after going through it:
It was packed in a heavy-weight clear plastic bag inside of a cardboard carton which was sufficently heavy-duty enough for the job.
There were only 997 rounds(YES, I counted the whole thing...)...so it was 3 rounds short - I'm over it...this stuff is probably weight-counted which will give some varience in actual piece count. Like I said, I'm over it...no big deal.
I sorted through the entire case inspecting each round. 95%+ were headstamped '05 with a handful '06 headstamps mixed in. A lot of the rounds had signs of excess purpleish primer sealer. A lot the rounds also had bullet sealant evident on the necks. There were quite a few with minor dings but nothing major. There were several with very small splits in the neck. One round had a bullet that had been seated slightly crooked. I ended up "rejecting" a total of 7 rounds...6 for split necks and 1 for the crooked-seated bullet. Not bad for bulk-ammo like this.
The ammo had a lot of tarnish spots like it possibly had gotten wet at one time and was "dusty-dirty" as if it had been sitting in an open bulk container/hopper in a warehouse for some period of time. I found 3 or 4 pieces that had begun to get a few spots greenish corrosion film on them.
I solved the problem by running the ammo through my brass tumbler using corn-cob polishing media with a dollop of Meguier's Cleaning Wax added. I ran it through 100 rounds at a time for 30 minutes. It came out clean and much shinier but it still had discolored spots on it. I don't care about the discolored spots as they don't affect function.
My opinions about this ammo:
Decent ammo at an O.K. price(for the times...)...nothing fantastic, though.
I was slightly disappointed that it was so dirty...I'm glad I've got a tumbler so that I could clean it up. I wouldn't recommend this ammo for your SHTF stockpile unless you tumble it to clean/polish it first.
Also, if you buy this stuff, you still really need to inspect each and every round.
I'm going to pick up another 1K of ammo in another week or so...either XM193(if I can find it...) or this stuff...I haven't decided yet. I'll make up my mind when the time comes.
I haven't had a chance to shoot any of this ammo yet but will come back and post a range report once I do...

Since I found some at a local dealer at 7.39/ box, I am bumping this thread to get other opinions and see if I should be getting some more.

OK accuracy, nothing to write home about.  Seems to have a bit more bump than X-tac.
