A couple (literally two) of misfeeds in a freshly cleaned rifle.  But other than that, no issues to speak of.  Good ammo.

unsure if the right thread but the ammunition was the black boxed american eagle xm193

had my first blown primer ever, it blew it under the trigger somehow and caused major malfunction.

my first and last 400 rounds or so through 16" carbine upper 1/7 twist

i typically buy it when nothing else brass cased is cheaper for plinking.

I've experienced several instances of blown primers with an 07 batch of XM193A, these failures occurred in a carbine that has successfully run many types of 5.56 pressure ammo in the past with no ill effects, including earlier lots of XM193, only to have popped primers with this XM193A at a rate of about 6/1000. The gun cycled fine, but was unable to go fully into battery due to the primer prohibiting BCG closure. In some cases, the BCG was far enough forward that the hammer was able to drop. Other primer failures may have occurred and gone unnoticed if the primer did not bind BCG movement. At .006% that's too high for me, considering I bought this ammo for serious use.

Fired atleast 400rnds out of a 16"M&P15 cant remmber a problem with it. The end of the case around the primer  seems to get cut by the extractor on ejectior.  (no torn or broken cases) . I dont reload so i dont know if this would affect its reload ability. This is my favorite ammo that ive shot out of this gun so far.

Have fired 220 rounds (out of 500 rnd order) XM193C thru 1/9 16" DPMS and Magpul Pmags. No malfunctions or failures with typical combat accuracy at 50-300 yds. Will buy again.

Shot 200 rounds with one FTF. Required the motar technique to unjam. The first malfunction in around 1400 rounds through my CD-M4LE. I voted this a minor problem, but it wouldn't stop me from using this ammo.

~140 rds fired yesterday.

Ammo:  American Eagle Tactical XM193C.  Purchased in brown 400rd. Federal box.  Opened to reveal two black 200rd American Eagle Tactical boxes.  Inside each of these black boxes were two 100rd white boxes stamped with lot #s and American Eagle Tactical/Federal XM193.

Headstamp reads LC 08 (no NATO headstamp).  Annealing mark clearly visible.  Primer pockets were crimped, albeit lightly.  Black tar sealant visible on some case necks.  Did not any notice primer sealant.

Rifle/s:  1) MSAR STG 556.  Generation III with 20" barrel.
2) RRA factory rifle with 20" barrel.

Out of 140 rds we experienced 4 hard primers that required a second primer strike (all rounds fired on second attempt).  Of those 4 rounds, one failed to chamber causing the brass to bend slightly at the case shoulder...this round was tossed as unsafe.

Accuracy was fair.  I won't be shooting it for score at a Hipower match, but it was good enough for plinking.
Ammunition wasn't particularly dirty.

I have had problems with primers popping out of Federal XM193 ammo. We are thinking this is a overpressure issue. The gas tube and all areas where gas applies is clean and not fouled. The gun is a 11 inch barrel with full auto option (a1 lower). The buffer is a carbine weight buffer. I am currently ordering a heavier buffer. I am not sure if the barrel is chambered in 5.56 or .223. I have learned that this could matter.

Any suggestions.

My honest suggestion is that you first ensure your barrel is chambered in 5.56.  I'd eliminate that variable first as it can result in some overpressure signs.

I was breaking in a new gun today.   A bushmaster Predator with 20 inch 1/8 twist barrel...non chrome lined chambered in 5.56.   This is the first time I've shot it since I bought it 2 months ago.  I was pumping different rounds through it and cleaning the barrel/chamber after about every 20 rounds.
I shot a box of Federal American Eagle Black Box XM193C.   Lot # V 49 W575,  I've had this ammo since late last year.  I seem to remember reading of some issues with the black box stuff and I believe that specific lot # vs the white or brown box.  I had shot a few boxes of this ammo when I first received it in my first Bushy Patrolman, 16 incher.  I didn't notice any issues then.

Today however out of the one box of 20 I had 3 blown primers.  Two of the primers fell out onto the shooting table I was using.  I shot 2 boxes of brown box XM193, a box each of Monarch brass FMJ and soft points, a box of 69 and 75 gr PRVI and 2 boxes of Monarch steel.  None of the other ammo appeared to have any issues.  One thing I seemed to notice was a bigger dent made by something in the base of the Fed AE (black box)brass which none of the other brass or steel seemed to be near as bad.

Oh and I did have one round fail to chamber fully.  I was using a Bushmaster 5 round magazine.  I thought I had a FTFire.  When I pulled the trigger is snapped but when I looked the round was not in battery and I could still see brass.  I ejected that round and reinserted it back into the same mag and it fed ok the next few rounds until empty.  I didn't use the 5 rounder anymore just in case.

I just got 2k rounds of xm193CBP 5.56 55g, packaged in the Federal American Eagle Tactical 100rnd boxes.  I have sold more than I have shot. Actually I have not shot any yet. It is all head stamped L C 09. It looks good
at a quick glance nothing stood out. I have had some UMC, federal 223 party packs with crooked bullets and poorly seated primers???
I hope to blast some of this ASAP

I have shot several thousand rounds of XM193 and XM193C––brown box and black box ammo.  Have had zero problems with either one.  I have fired this ammo in a CMMG 16" mid-length, a Ruger Mini-14 and a friend's Arsenal SLR-106F.  Ran perfectly in all of them.

Was at the range yesterday shooting XM193 in the black box. First 100 round white box I experienced about 5 blown primers. One of which jammed the rifle to the point I had to use a little pick to pry the bastard out. Second box of 100 rounds I got about half way through and had a serious jam that required help from the range officer. He and another gentleman examined the brass and there were no signs of over pressure and he said it looked like the crimp just wasn't deep enough/and or the brass had been reloaded too many times. Someone on page one mentioned making sure your gas system wasn't plugged causing an over pressure. How would a plugged gas tube (example) cause an over pressure? (not being a smart ass, I just don't know).

The rifle is a S&W and has had other brands of .223 through it without issue (first experience with real 5.56). The gun is going to my local smith this afternoon and I'll be contacting Federal as I have just over a 1000 rounds that I don't want to run through the gun.

I can post the batch number if needed.

I haven't had any blown primers.  But I did have a round where the bolt bent the hell out of the spent case rim and left it in the chamber.  The brass cycled back out once I figured out where it was.

I've also found 2 badly bent rounds.  But they were bent at the case neck so the bullet was pointing off to one side.  One of these was 01 production and one was 09.  Both would go into my headspace guage, so they would have chambered.

I suspect that this problem was the reason for my baffle strike in my AAC silencer.  I got the strike after firing over 1300 rounds of mostly handloads prior to this.  So I know the silencer mounting was proven.  I haven't had any issues since.  I no longer shoot XM193 through my silencer without inspecting it very closely for bullet runout.

I have about 3000 rounds of XM193F lot number V49 Z525 through my DPMS 16" with carbine gas system with no problems so far. I have the XM193F that comes in the 500 round case of 25 boxes of 20rds. Very clean also. I will buy more when I can find it. When I get a new scope to finish my critter rifle I will try the 193 in it. I like this ammo.

This is my go to ammo, both Bushmasters 16in 14.5in  2500 rds through each not one malfunction no blown primers.Excellent groups, using a cheap truglo red dot 5MOA. My groups at 100 with no magnification 1-2in groups(5 shot groups).I have pulled off 1 in groups pretty consistent, but the worse is 2. At 200yrds  6in grps with my cheap truglo worst 7in but pretty consistent with 6. When I hear negative reports about Fed XM193 I just dont see it. I believe the reports, but I have plenty rounds through both my weapons and I have none to report.I have shot prvi incosistent PLUS I DO NOT LIKE THE RED SEALANT,remington okay at 50 but slacks at 100.PMC okay, but groups are tighter with FED.
I would love to find a fair price on match ammo to see what my Bushmasters can really do.

I liked it until the primers started to blow out.  Several (3-5) blow outs in 400 rounds.   Sometimes the primer only came out 1/2 way out of the pocket.  It was in a 5.56 barrel from ADCO.  They took it back to check it out and the chamber is fine.

I'm instructor for the Air Force, we shoot LC 193 everyday, thousands of rounds everyday, M16A2's, M4's, and other assorted rifles. Never any issues with ammo, only one lot of WCC 9mm had to be recalled. It's good ammo, sometime we get shit from vietnam era and it shoots just awsome.

I got my first box of the Federal XM193AF LC ammo on stripper clips. 900 rounds

I inspected all the rounds

They looked like Sh*^. I have not bought ammo in 10 years and compared to reloads I bought back then the Federal stuff looked like floor droppings.

Luckily I did not find any neck cracks or problems. There were some dents but not many that were a problem. Most shells had what apreared to be a black paint or marker marking near the top of the brass, suggesting that maybe it was used to identify problem rounds. None of the bullets had the markings, so my guess is that these rounds may have been rejects that were reloaded.

I have not fired any yet. Perhaps in the next 2 weeks.

Has anyone else seen this in this packaging???

I've had 2 blown primers in my last range session.  I fired off about 400 rds of Federal XM193 AF 900 rd in stripper clips.   Going to try something else next time.  That black stuff is the annealing process.  Your reloads won't have this.
