When I buy ammo by the case, it's usually for long term storage. It's my reserves for either A) The zombie invasion, B) The Chinese invasion, or C) the lets-make-guns-and-ammo-illegal liberal invasion.  As such, I don't like to open these cases. I like to have nice even numbers and piles of cases and boxes. Then when I go to the range, I'll just buy a couple boxes of whatever I need to go shooting, and not touch the reserves, so they stay nice and pretty and even.

Well awhile back I was in a hurry to leave to get to the range, and didn't have a chance to run to the store, so I cracked open one of my precious, and now rare, cases of Federal LC XM193. I plundered 4 boxes from said case. It is now an uneven, not complete case. That's where the OCD kicks in. When I see that it bugs me. It makes me twitch. It keeps me awake at night. It must be brought back to it's whole self.

So who wants to sell me 4 boxes of XM193? I will pay a nice premium for them. You'll get a bonus if it's boxes from lot 124. Or if you can point me in the direction of a place that actually has some in stock, that will work too (assuming the don't want $20/box or something).

There's nothing on the EE at the moment, and it's usually sold by the case anyway. Price list in this forum is showing all the major e-tailers OOS as well.

Help.

UPDATE: I have 3 boxes of Lot 124. Need 1 more!

You guys make me feel better.

I just loaded a magazine with ½ Prvi and ½ S&B.

ETA - If you can't find any, perhaps harmonic balance can be restored by shooting up the rest of the case.

I know your pain. After reading your post I got up and went to check which lot of ammo my XM193 was from. No thinking,no reading through the thread just an immediate reaction to get up to see if I could fulfill the need of a fellow member/team member. Alas I found that all I had was lot 141 XM 193 but was happy to see someone had already offered up the needed ammo from the correct lot..

P.S. The zombies will invade the Chinese first!

Once the Necropalypse (necro-apocalypse) starts, all pre-existing political, socioeconomic and religious distinctions will crumble.  We will just have the shamblified and the non-shamblified.  All of a sudden, we'll find common cause with those who had previously been our so-called enemies.  And a new day will dawn for mankind.  Will we make it?  Who knows.  But the new world order will ultimately be completely different from what we know today.

You will likely be shooting Chinese first before zombies....
I just read an article about how the Chinese have 900 BILLION dollars in US bonds!
Ya think they will mess with our economy?
Ya think they will try and take Taiwan and tell us to get back?
What do ya think they will want for all those bond we can't pay???
US land?
CONTROL of US land????
Let's see, they already own both ends of the Panama Canal and want NAFTA to build a highway north from there to Canada so they can ship their goods...
YEP, I think the Chinese will be here before the zombies....

Did we hijack this thread or what!!!

I know your pain.

I am the same way but mine is with full ammo cans.

I won't even store ammo in an ammo can unless it fits perfectly.  That is why I keep .30, .50, fat .50, and 40mm ammo cans on hand.

I put different kinds of ammo in the same .50 cal can and open Russian spam cans 1/2 way just for fun. I even once opened a battle pack, took 8 rounds out of a box, and threw it back in. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

OCD? Yeah, I have some of that, too.
How many hours have you all spent arranging and rearranging boxes in ammo cans to arrive at a harmonious arrangement and quanity?

Another way to make packaging "correct and complete" so to speak if you are shy of 1,000rnds, would be to put it on stripper clips and bandoleers and then fill up a .50 cal can.

Then I suppose we would have a lot of WTB ads for .50 cans marked 5.56mm, M193 and M855

Huh-huh, know exactly what you mean. When I eat one slice of PIE I can't stand to see the open hole left behind. Therefore, it's The Whole Pie in my house or it's `nuttin. Why? Because, of course, I like PIE!

My husband told me it was a GIRL thing!!!!! There HAS to be an even number of boxes of each type of ammo we MIGHT need. You don't sell a gun after you have it, unless you have two of the same gun. AND you can never have too many Federal primers (I bought 12,000 right before they disappeared off the market. Thank goodness I can find them every once in a while now -- and I buy every stinking one they have. My stash got down to less than 6,000. I was starting to have nightmares!!), or too much brass waiting to be loaded. Wait until I show him this thread!! You guys are great.

Haha, it is most definitely not a girl thing. I'm the same way with a lot of other stuff too. Like stored water and food, I have to have an even amount of jugs or packages. Even oddball stuff you'll never see, like the cabling on all my A/V gear has to match. I'm weird about a lot of stuff like that.

I'm not too crazy though. I still allow myself to step on the cracks of sidewalks, and I don't wash my hands until they bleed.
