Jumped on an opportunity for a bulk deal....not sure if I got that good of a deal (or any deal for that matter).

Paid $600 for just shy of 1600 rnds of the following.

I'm under the impression this is m855 or xm193 rounds?  62gr bullet?

Judging from the headstamp it looks like its a little old....is this an issue assuming its 1993 ammo?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated....hey if I got jipped feel free to kick me...I'm generally a lurker on this forum and really enjoy all the great postings / builds you all share.

I'll try and share pics of what I picked up......

Thats probably nicer stuff then what they make now, not a great deal but about the going price. It's 855 stuff, 62 grain with the steel penetrator. You won't find all the dents and dings that the new stuff has on it.

If my math is right you paid about 38 cents a round?

I personally think that's a little bit on the high side for ammo that is 14 years old.

Since it's green tipped, it's M855 62gr.

You didn't get a steal, but you didn't get screwed.  Ammo dates...1993...bah, nothing to worry about.  All the surplus being bought up during the golden era 2000-2004 was alot older than that.  Ammo keeps for a very, very long time if stored in an ammo box and packed in low humidity.

Thanks for the info gang!  Sounds like it was an "ok deal" not good....not bad...just ok.

Do you guys toss a desicant in your ammo tins to help with curbing humidity damage?

It was a fair deal made better by it's quantity & availability to you (I would have bought it as well).
