I get 700. You have to agitate it a bit to get them to settle. I can pack them in stripper clips and get the same amount.

I have a 12"x6"x7" ammo can. I can get 1,200 rounds of .223 into it perfectly.

Is that a .30 cal. can? I think the one he is referring to is only about 4" wide. At least that is the one I am talking about.

I can fit 600 rounds in them. Above that the rounds will jump out when I open up the can. I usually just put 500 rounds in them now to keep it simple.
