Buying ammo is like buying baseball/football cards.  I use to get packs of baseball cards and keep getting them until I had the whole set.  WHen they came out with different versions you had to go to many different places to get them all.  Got my mom to take me once on my b-day to 7 stores to get football cards in fleer, topps and uperdeck.  Also you can also never have enough.  I have 5 Mark Maguire Rookie cards that are not worth much anymore because it seems like Baseball Cards are not in anymore.  It was fun.  Now I go to 6-7 stores trying to find the cheapest ammo I can find.

Just like a little kid.

I have been going to so many stores trying to find good ammo at decent prices.  Right now in the Philly and South Jersey area, ammo prices are crazy.  XM193 is over $10 a box, ADCOM M855 is $10, I can't find any .223 WWB and I have been stuck buying Ultramax and Brown Bear.  I haven't had any problems with either ammo but I'm used to shooting much better ammo and it's starting to drive me crazy.  I did just find a store in Philly that has AE .223 62gr for $5 a box and it seems like no one is buying it ( I think it's just because of the area the shop is in) so I am stating to stock up on that and the sad part is I'm extremely happy to be getting it for $5 a box but right now that's the best I can do for good ammo.

A pack of baseball cards today is like 3-4 a pack.  That is nuts I was getting them for 50 cents a pack in the day.

I just found 1k of Radway Green 7.62x51 at a local pawn/gun shop today. The owner said that he would take $225 for all of it. I guess it is like those that shop for antiques. You just can't pass up a good deal.

I  have  been  real  lucky  in  the  ammo  search  since  the  skyrocketing  prices  teh  past  year  with  private    buys  of  223   and    762x39  at  cheap  prices. Picked  up  1000  rds  of  1980  IMI  M193  for  $180.00  bucks    recently a nd  Wolf  223  for      around    $2.25  a  box. 4000  rds  of  762x39  for  $400.00      from a  local  paper  and    3  cases  of  Wolf    FMJ762x39    for  $240.00(80bucks a  case  of  thiusand e ach!) STaying  away  from  gun  show  ammo  prices  or  internet  buying. Unless    someone  is  selling  at a  show  at  the  "old"  prices.

I thought you were gonna say heroin addiction.

I can usually talk myself out of a gun but, if I see a deal on ammo I wont sleep until I've gotten a fix.

Yeah I was like that on a Rock Island 1911 it is $350 and i was like thats a good deal.  Went over to the 45 ACP ammo since I do not have any 45's at this time.  and was like wow.  1000 rounds of 45ACP is only 20-30 dollars cheaper than AE .223.  I said I will wait on getting one of these.  Still not tired of my 9mm pistols or .223 rifles.

Cheap .303 is also something I go nuts for found 2 boxes of 32 rounds of .303 for 7 bucks.  Was like thats a good deal now a days.  Use to be 4 a box a .303 last year.

Yeah, I live in Philly and it's the same.  It's almost not even worth going to gunshows any more.  I just buy in bulk from AIM and other places ... the only ammo I buy in stores is WWB 9mm and .22 LR.

PS while we're on baseball cards, a buddy sent me a link to a Ryan Howard (autographed) baseball card that sold for over $200!

Buying ammo is like...

...having sex. Yeah, you're satisfied right afterward. But a little while later you start thinking about when you'll get more.

I cleaned out 3 Wally World Stores in NC of 9MM white box last week while I was down there.  There is no such thing as having too much ammo!
