Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - New LC M193?

Farting around at the gun show today. Ran across and bought 17 boxes of LC M193 at $4.00 a piece. Says LC-88H006-240.  Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Any of you guys know how old it is? Is it new? I thought maybe made in 1988. All the boxes are pristine. Thanks.

1988 is correct.  H is the 8th letter in the alphabet, meaning lot production began in August.

Thanks SIGmund.  I didn't exactly know how to read the lot number.  I got kind of excited thinking that maybe somehow some new LC M193 made it  to us (the public).
