I have been wondering about who makes the componants for the surplus ammo and current ammo on the market.
For instance the 55 grain bullet. Did South Africa make thiers? Were they made to a ISO type spec that was verified? Did they just buy in large volumes from an approved mfg in the US or Europe? Not just SA but any others on the list, IMI, Olympic, not to mention the smaller players like Guatamalan.
What about powder? Home grown or imported in bulk? Made locally to a Mil-spec or??? Primers?
I would bet brass is easy but the machines to assemble the componants?
