I've got 340rds of 1956 LC 30-06 M2 AP in Garand clips w/cardboard covers. The ammo shoots and looks great but since I no longer own anything to shoot it in,I'm considering selling or trading it for some good 7.62 Nato. Have seen many different values for this ammo. I don't want to gouge anyone, just get a fair price. Have any of you sold or bought any of this stuff lately? If so,can you give me an idea as to its value? Thanks for any input.

I sold some LC 43 AP for $.50 cents a round and that seemed to be a pretty fair price

I darn sure didn't pay no 50 cents a pop for that 1500 rounds of Talon re-man'd 30-06 AP black-tip I bought back in the 80s, that'd have been $750.00 .....

This ammo is 50 years old and while I'm sure if stored properly it's a-ok, that's like a Brand Spankin NEW red-box 223 Black Hills 75grn match HPBT price.

Yes I know it's hard to find now-days but come on "2 for a buck" sounds somewhat pricey to me.

Mike

ps - 25-30 cents/rnd sounds more like what I'd pay for 50yr old original LC M2 AP, but then I don't collect ammo, I shoot it.

Mike,I doubt you paid 50 cents a round either for re-man'd 30-06 twenty years ago.

Just yesterday I recieved my CMP Greek 30.06 ammo, about 1,200 rounds: 768 rounds in 8 round clips with bando, and 480 rounds in cans.  This stuff was from 1972 and 1969, stored in airtight spamcans, and it looks new when you open it up.

I paid about 21 cents a round: $168 for the clipped, $100 for the boxed.
So, if you wanted to use that as you benchmark I would charge no more than $70, plus a fair price for shipping.  Maybe a little less since it is older than the stuff I bought.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

He didn't say $2 per round, he said 2 rounds for one dollar.

Bought 500 rds of LC 43 AP ammo on M60 links (don't know who put them on there) from a local guy for 100 dollars about 6 months ago.  I haven't shot any of it yet though.  I plan on cronographing it this summer.
