Most of the prices listed on this site for ammo are usually internet order, so I couldn't find this info, but let me know if it is posted elsewhere.  I buy Black  Hills blue box 55gr FMJ at my local Sportsman's Warehouse for $11/box of 50.  Is this an absurdly good price that I've been getting?  That comes out to $220/1000, no shipping required, which seems to be a lot cheaper than what I usually see it listed for here or elsewhere online.

The sportsman's warehouse by me had the same deal going and I've been buying as much as possible.  I watched them put out wolf, then federal, then q3131 ammo on their "special shelf" and when it returned to the normal shelf the price had gone up to what others were selling it for.............

Absurd no, good probably,

My local SW had it for $10.99 untill January, then poof, no more 55 grn Blue Box, no price stickers on the .223 pallet either.  :-(

They do have the FAE for 3.99/20 though.

I went into Sportsmans Warehouse.  Their everyday price on Black Hills 55FMJ is $10.99/box of 50.  That is $220/K.  Not bad for a retail outlet.

I was picking up several boxes.... when a store clerk came over and told me that everything in the store was 10% on sale that day..... so I got mine for $199/K.

Is that an absurd deal?

My Sportsman's had the same price until last weekend.  Now the same boxes of 55 gr BH BB that were $10.99 are $13.99!!!  That is more per round than the Front Line M855.  I think prices are going up everywhere.

This may well be true, but my local shops really haven't gone up much at all.  A Gander mountain I was at over the weekend had Wolf at 2>50/box.  I haven't seen it retail that cheap before.  I bought a decent amount of it, but I would like to get more soon.

One local shop still has XM-855, XM-193, and Q3131 for the same price now as they've had for quite a while.  They also have SA 7.62 for, IIRC, 29 dollars for a battle pack.
