Is it just me or is it true that the 62gr. Wolf shoots tighter than 55gr. Wolf in my M-16 A-1 clone 1:12 twist? Just curious...

They do for me, in all my guns.

I don't think the loadings are that much different.  Maybe the 62gr bullets are made better, or the slightly heavier projectile creates a little more pressure to help the steel case seal like a brass case would.

It's not just you.  Wolf 62 gr fmj seems to stabilize quite well in 1:12.  This is not hard to understand as these fmjs are not steel-cored, and conventional 60 gr heads usually stabilize well in 1:12.

It also seems to shoot more accurately than the 55 gr fmj.  I do not know why this should be so, but there it is.

I noticed that also out of my 14.5 BM 1/9 barrel.

The 62gr Wolf shoots better in both of my 1:9's and my 1:10 than the 55gr does. Not match grade, but a definite improvement over the 55gr.

62 gr shoots better in my Bushy chrome 1x9.

Some logical reasons might be the powder they use suits heavier bullet better, more bearing surface on heavier bullet.

It could also mean they just got lucky with that particular production run of cheap bullets.

I'll keep buying it over 55 gr.

I tested 62 vs 55 in my match Wilson 20" 1:8 barrel, and could not determine ANY differences in accuracy between the rounds.  I imagine this varies lot to lot more than 55vs62.

I am wondering if 62 is more reliable on overage?  Because 55 short stroke too often in my weapons when they are dirty.

Hmm...  I've been shooting 55gr HP out of my 1:8 16" POF...  Actually got a decent group with it the other day...
