I have spent a bunch of time looking around and I can find American Eagle 223 for $220 and I just found a source for XM 193 for a little over $250.  Both are price delivered.

Does anyone have a preference one over the other?  Also, if you do, why the preference.  As far as I can tell the biggest difference is the AE is loaded a bit hotter according to the spec sheets and is a bit 1/4 MOA less accurate.

The XM 193 is sealed at the case mouth in addition to the primer, the AE is only sealed at the primer.  Does this make any difference when storing the ammo?

I also found some Q3131 for a little more money.

Any info and/or opionions would be appreciated.

The XM193 should be hotter than the federal AE.  Maybe by 150fps...  I'd buy the XM193 if you can get it.  The Q3131 would be second on my list.  The AE would make good practice ammo.  Others will chime in I'm sure.

Q3131 would be first on my list because it's consistant and first rate stuff.  Are you SURE the XM193 has the sealants.  We've seen lots released before that were lacking sealers.  It's that kind of inconsistantcy that keeps me away from XM193.

Thanks for the info.  Is there any advantage to the sealant on the XM193 if this is going to be ammo that will probably be stored a long time for possible SHTF scenereo?  Also, am I correct that the XM193 will have crimps in the primer pockets?

Is Q3131 sealed and crimped?

The new production stuff is sealed at both ends.

And crimped.
